COVID-19 Safety Measures

The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience is a COVID-secure venue. It has all the government approved safety measures - it's why we're GOOD TO GO approved. GOOD TO GO is the government approved industry standard mark from VisitBritain.

We're keeping all the COVID safety measures below in place until further notice. This is for your peace of mind when visiting the venue, and for the safety and wellbeing of all our guests and team members.

We have implemented a range of health and safety measures that seek to reduce the risks associated with the presence of COVID-19 that are in line with government advice and the requirements of local health authorities. 

Guests are required to wear a face covering inside the experience until further notice (unless exempt).

Hygiene screens are in place around the venue to ensure there is a safe distance between guests and team members.

Our Virtual Reality headsets are sanitised after every usage.

Group sizes are limited to 12 in the 20,000 square foot venue.

We’ve changed the way in which our actors interact with our guests to allow additional space.

Table service at our main bar ensures that you can have a drink with your party in a relaxed, seated environment.


  • Please book your tickets online in advance via our website.
  • If you have any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19, or you've been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, please stay at home and do not visit the venue
  • Before leaving home, please check out our FAQs for the latest information.
  • We’re a completely cashless venue so you’ll need a payment card or contactless payment device to pay for food, drink and merchandise.
  • Bring a face covering. Guests are required to wear a face covering inside the experience until further notice (unless exempt). This safety measure remains in place to protect both our guests and team members. It is not a requirement for face coverings to be worn in the main bar or interval bar.
  • Please contact our Guest Services team if you have any questions before visiting.


  • Installation of hand sanitising stations around the venue and experience.
  • QR code menus in our bars to reduce the number of high-frequency touch points. Disposable condiments will also be provided.
  • Enhanced cleaning measures, throughout the day, which seek to disinfect high-frequency touch points. 
  • Self-clean antimicrobial technology is used around the building on doors, handles, bannisters and safety rails.
  • Face shields and hand sanitiser stations for team members. The use of such equipment by our team members is both to protect them and our guests.
  • Our team members participate in COVID-19 training instructing them how to stay safe, as well as how to keep our guests safe.

Getting to the venue

The closest tube stations are Aldgate (Circle & Metropolitan Lines) (4 min walk), Aldgate East (7 min walk), Bank (8 min walk), Liverpool Street (10 min walk), Tower Hill (6 min walk) and Tower Gateway (9 min walk).

The closest overground stations are Fenchurch Street (4 min walk) and Liverpool Street (10 min walk).

St Katharine Cree bus stops W towards St Paul’s Cathedral or X towards Whitechapel are just outside the venue.

TFL safety measures

TFL has put in the following safety measures to increase the hygiene of their services:

  • Hospital grade cleaning substances that kill viruses and bacteria on contact
  • Increased cleaning of key interchanges
  • Continuous UV cleaning of escalator hand rails
